We are very proud to announce that we have been awarded British Standard Certification BS8577, a highly assessed framework for the provision of financial advice and planning services.

The assessment follows a two-year period of dedication and effort from the whole team at Mathews Comfort, working with our external consultants, Standards International Ltd.

What is BS8577?
This is the only recognised British Standard for Financial Planning, and is awarded to companies able to demonstrate best practice within their operational systems and processes. The certification examines our business in detail in every area, demonstrating that we achieve a high standard of professionalism and efficiency in everything we do.

Why did we do it?
We have always known internally as a team that we do a great job for our clients, putting them at the heart of everything we do. This is shown through the great feedback we receive, but the certification has allowed us to test what we felt was a high level of professionalism and expertise against the stringent criteria of an external assessment.

We also wanted to ensure that the team we had in place was right for us and that, as we continue to expand, new team members fully understand what we are about and why we do things. It was no surprise to us that all our team embraced the assessment and did whatever necessary to show the outside world why they are proud to work for Mathews Comfort.

We continually strive to update and innovate, making the experience of working with Mathews Comfort a worthwhile and enjoyable journey that delivers better outcomes for our clients and the team within. We aim to work with people in such a way that we inspire great confidence, and this empowers them to lead meaningful and purposeful lives.

The certification showed we are doing the right things for our team and clients, as well as bringing even further improvement to our operations. We never stand still.

What did we do?
We looked at our operations, procedures and processes: examining every aspect of the business: reviewing, tweaking and updating along the way.

What does it mean to clients and team?
We are always looking at how we can improve, both in terms of the services we provide and the development of the team. We have been providing services to our clients for the last 170 years, and continuous improvement has always been at the forefront of what we do. The achievement of gaining British Standard BS8577 for the provision of financial advice and planning services certification means that we have even stronger foundations to continue our upwards trajectory.
