It’s wonderful to be back in the office, resuming working life as usual before the pandemic struck. It’s been a tough 18 months and we are hugely grateful to every member of our team for their dedication, commitment and enthusiasm, ensuring we were able to meet client needs and deliver our usual high standard of service throughout lockdown.

By way of a thank you to the team and also as a means of bringing us together once again now restrictions are being lifted, we decided to arrange a day out with a difference, focusing on team-building and having fun!

The day began with a tour around Oxford on the open-top City Sightseeing Bus (click here). Whether you’re new to Oxford or not, the open-top, guided tour gives a real historical insight into our beautiful city, providing a great vantage point from which to enjoy the best sights.

When it came to lunchtime, there was only one option. The superb Cherwell Boathouse (click here) offers a fantastic menu, as well as hiring out punts. Set in the authentic Victorian working boathouse, alongside the punt station, the award-winning, family-owned restaurant offers a delightful riverside setting and also has an AA Rosette for culinary excellence. We took advantage of the riverside lunch menu, with its fresh, seasonal produce and mouth-watering dishes, prepared by Head Chef, Paul Bell. With the sun shining down on us, everyone relaxed and the world did, indeed, seem a better place!

After that, as the pictures reveal, we went punting on the River Cherwell, courtesy of Cherwell Punting (click here). Punting is described as a timeless, eccentric and quintessentially Oxford experience and it didn’t disappoint. The members of staff chosen to punt didn’t disappoint either, picking up the skill like a duck to water, enabling their passengers to enjoy a leisurely journey up and down river in the finest romantic tradition! With the sun continuing to shine, it was the perfect way to finish the day.

Now reconnected and raring to go, everyone is glad to be back in the office, resuming routines and delivering business as usual, with a smile and real appreciation of how fortunate we are to live and work in such a fabulous and unique place.
