We’re on the road to raise funds for SSNAP!

This summer, our Mathews Comfort campervan made its first of many appearances at local events across Oxfordshire.

As a team, we love to get involved in our local community and raise funds for our chosen charity SSNAP, and we are always thinking of creative ways to get young people interested in lifestyle financial planning!

On 29th June, we had the pleasure of attending LibFest, an annual family-friendly festival that is held to honour the memory of Liberty Baker, a local teenager whose life was tragically taken away by a dangerous driver in 2014. Liberty’s loved ones organise this much-loved event every year and the sun was shining on this fantastic day. You can find out more about LibFest here, which has raised £70,000 in the last 3 years for Seesaw, Epilepsy Research UK and Brainstorm: http://libertybaker.co.uk

For just £1 a go, young people were able to try and choose a lucky lollipop to win a money-box - with a 100% success rate in lucky lollipops being chosen, there may have been a helping hand or two to ensure that everyone was a winner!

All of the money raised has been donated to SSNAP, an Oxford-based charity who fund pioneering research and provide practical and emotional support for families while their babies are in the Neonatal Care Unit.

We also took our campervan to Witney’s annual carnival parade, which is another fun day that the community enjoyed - and the sun was shining once again! We were very busy all day and even had the pleasure of meeting many parents and children who have benefited from SSNAP.

Across the two events, almost 200 money-boxes were won and over 300 lollies were eaten - we’re hopeful that these treats will help young people to become interested in saving for the future with their very own money-boxes!

Keep your eyes peeled for our campervan’s next appearance - we will be continuing our journey across local events as we continue to raise funds for SSNAP, a charity that is close to our hearts.
