Having previously completed a two-year apprenticeship with Mathews Comfort and then made his way in the world, including studying Finance at Derby University, we are delighted to welcome back Harry Norton, who joins the team as Paraplanning Assistant.

Following his apprenticeship, Harry gained some well-rounded work experience before embarking on his university course. Sadly, with the advent of Covid-19, Harry made the decision to leave university and return to full-time employment. But FE’s loss is our gain, and we are very happy he has chosen to come back to Mathews Comfort. We know he has the ability, aptitude and experience to deliver what’s required in his new role.

To find out a little more about Harry, we asked him a few questions. Here’s how he answered:

What is your new role at Mathews Comfort?

As Paraplanning Assistance, I’ll be helping the Paraplanners and Financial Planners with research, preparation and making sure each client receives the best possible service.

What skills and experience do you bring to the role?

A lot’s happened since I last worked at Mathews Comfort. I’ve gained some invaluable work experience and studied Finance at university, which has given me a good skill-set in terms of knowledge, work ethics and attention to detail, along with customer-facing and people skills.

What are you hoping to bring to the Mathews Comfort team?

I’m hoping to draw on my previous experience, along with the amazing in-house training I received as an apprentice, to deliver a professional service to clients, while enhancing my knowledge of the financial world.

If your friends could describe you in three words, what would they be?

Driven, considerate and bonkers!

What do you consider to be your greatest personal achievement to date?

Captaining the under-18’s National Pool Team to European Championship! That seems a long time ago now…

When you’re not at work, what d’you do to relax and enjoy yourself?

I’m a sports fan, so I watch a lot of sports, including football, boxing and Formula 1. I also like to play golf.

We love cake in the MCFS office. Do you have a signature cake you’ll be baking and bringing into the office?

I’m not sure my baking would be safe to eat, as I’m usually the taster and not the baker.
